NSA is able to install spyware on all iPhones
A leaked NSA document proves that the agency is capable of easily deploying spyware on all iPhones and can have access to user data including SMS messages, contacts, and even a user's location by utilizing cell tower information. What's even scarier is that the NSA can remotely access an iPhone's camera and microphone that is infected with the spyware.
According to the leaked intel, the initiative, named DROPOUT JEEP, began in October of 2008. The document delineates that the NSA would need physical access to the device in order to install the software, which doesn't sound too bad.
However, the German Magazine, Der Spiegel, which also published the DROPOUT JEEP data, believes that the NSA rerouted shipments of brand new iPhones before they went out to consumers to install the spyware. Even worse, there was some speculation a while back from Edward Snowden, that suggests Apple may have allowed the NSA access to their products. The news was reported by Jacob Applebaum, who has a more detailed lecture (that he gave yesterday) about DROPOUT JEEP and the state of cell phone spyware today. You can watch it here.
It's harrowing enough to think that the NSA is infecting iPhones without Apple's knowledge. It's even more harrowing if Apple is helping the US government to spy on its customers. We will provide more info on this story as it develops.

Android 4.4 coming to 10 Micromax smartphones
The Indian cell phone manufacturer Micromax doesn't immediately come to mind as a top player in the cell phone game, but it is sure putting forth an effort to keep its Android handsets up to date.
An internal document reveals that the number 2 Indian cell phone maker will upgrade 10 of its handsets to Kit Kat: the A250, A240, A210, A200, A116, A116, A116i, A111, A110Q, and A110. The leak doesn't indicate a timeframe for the updates, however.

Micromax is best known for its Canvas series of phones. The upcoming Canvas Turbo is being heavily promoted with the help of Hugh Jackman, which most of you probably know as the Wolverine. The Australian actor was named the company's brand ambassador back in October.
Celebrity endorsements aside, Micromax should expect a steady growth if it continues to produce quality handsets, with constant updates, at affordable prices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs. Nokia Lumia 1520: Bigger, better, faster
Introduction
We venture again into the realm of phablets, one that at the beginning seemed to promise little more than a short burst of action, has become the scene of some of the most thrilling battles this industry has seen. The showdown we're about to witness though could well be the climax and a new beginning, all at once. A new dimension of a rivalry that's been going for years but is now more heated than ever.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 emerged from every battle without so much as a scratch. The lineup has defined the segment and the third generation is an impressive all-rounder with rock-solid still imaging, probably the best video a phone can produce, processing power to spare and plenty of value-adding software features. The S Pen also makes sure the Note 3 caters to artists and creative in a way hardly any device would.
Nokia is only just entering the phablet space, but years of design and imaging excellence are finally made to count, now that Microsoft has finally taken the platform up to speed, enabling support for the latest in screen resolution and computing power. What once put the N and E series at the top of the smartphone food chain must be running in the veins of the Lumia 1520 too.
Ironically, it's phablets where Windows Phone is finally able to stand up to Android in a meaningful, unconditional way. In the end though, there couldn't have been a more appropriate scene for this battle. A battle that may never have happened. A killer droid against a droid killer.

Lighter - 168 g vs 209 g
More RAM - 3 GB vs 2 GB
64 GB of built-in storage version
Slightly higher-clocked chipset - 2.3 GHz vs 2.2 GHz
4K (2160p) video recording over 1080@30fps
2 MP 1080p front-facing camera vs 1.2 MP 720p one
Temperature and humidity sensors
IR port for remote control functionality
These two are powered by identical Snapdragon 800 chipsets and have massive full-HD screens. It's Super AMOLED against ClearBlack LCD, PureView against S Pen, Nokia against Samsung, Android against Windows Phone. Apps and services is where the battle will be fought too. PureView and the software behind it, Nokia Music, Nokia Drive and Microsoft Office against the stylus-enabled apps and features, the latest TouchWiz treats, and the Google services.
What will decide this one though is perhaps between the lines of the spec sheets, and the fight will be one to watch, we promise you.

Samsung Releases an Infographic on the Evolution of Displays in Smartphones
Samsung might are leading the smartphone race by a long way however it hasn’t forgotten the past. Instead, they’ve discharged a brand new infographic on the evolution of displays on its phones, beginning all the method from the Mono displays of the 80s.
Mono Displays dominated the telecom business till the beginning of the initial} century once we first got color displays. By the tip of the primary decade, technology yet again modified, once we finally got the AMOLEDs, the additional common breed of displays found on the present smartphones
Samsung hasn’t told what it plans to try to to within the future however it looks like a no brainer that its next flagship can go with a 2K show.
BlackBerry Loses $4.4 Billion Last Quarter
EXTREME NEWS FOR BLACK BERRY
As times passes , things seem to be worsening than ever for Black Berry. The Canadian
company
reports that last quarter it made revenues of just $1.2 billion, down from $1.6 billion the
last quarter ( and $2.7 billion a year ago ) and sold 4 . 3 million phones , out of which
only
1 . 1 million were running on BB10 OS , which was supposed to be the lifesaver .
The company made a loss of $1 . 8 billion last quarter since it wrote - off unsold BB10
devices
in the warehouse, the figure stands at a monumental $4.4 billion.
Still , the company is seeing revolutionary changes thanks to its new CEO . In order to
capture larger more market share , Black Berry is partnering with Connor in China to
manufacture cheaper smartphones . The first phones to come out of the partnership will
debut
in 2 O 1 4 .
Secondly , the firm is divided into three divisions , Services , Q.N.X .Embedded and
Devices . The
first 0ne will be getting the most attention from Black Berry while Devices department will
be handled in a m0re efficient way .
And despite that phenomenal loss , the CE0 John S . Chen thinks that things will get fine
by
2O16. According to its plan, profits and losses should get even by 2o15 , with profits
turning in later. We’ll have to wait and see whether this strategy will work.
